Prevention and Mitigation of Disease
MAP International’s programs improve the quality of life by working to prevent and control infectious diseases, and when possible, eradicate.
Preventable diseases have a devastating impact on developing communities around the world making it nearly impossible for countries to escape the cycle of poverty. Economist Jeffery Sachs estimates that 20,000 people die each day from preventable diseases attributed to poverty.
In Latin America and on the continent of Africa, MAP International is working to prevent and eradicate diseases by providing critical medicines to prevent the further spread of disease, through prevention, education, construction of potable water resources and vaccination.
