> WE ARE SERVING THE SERVANTSA message from Michael Nyenhuis, President & CEO: At MAP International, we know that no one solution can “solve” 3rd world poverty or “cure” all disease in third world countries. We know that different communities have different needs, different countries and country villages have different challenges. This is where MAP International is different from other non-profits and aid programs. At MAP, our team works at the village or community level to understand what their most pressing needs are. We then work with them to develop responses to those needs. But it is the people themselves who create the specific programs to meet those needs. MAP provides guidance, technical expertise, and some financial support, but the planning and achievements are a result of the communities working together to solve their own issues. As CEO, this unique methodology of “serving the servants” and creating real hope and lasting change by partnering with people in poverty remains my passion. And this same passion resides within my staff and board. |

> WE ARE EIGHT COUNTRY OFFICES AND 233 PEOPLE STRONGMAP’s eight country offices are on the ground and taking action. After learning about the communities and villages, we excavate the most prominent needs of their people and create specific programs to solve those challenges. Our programs improve health and eliminate sickness and disease by increasing access to medicines and clean water, improving health services for mothers and children, educating families about tropical diseases, HIV/AIDS, and other health threats, and supporting community-led health development. Among the many human needs, MAP International is called to focus on a ministry of Total Health. Total Health is a concept defined by the capacity of individuals, families and communities to work together to transform the conditions that promote, in a sustainable way, their physical, emotional, social, economical, environmental and spiritual well being.
