Global Essential Medicines and Supplies (GEMS)
GEMS provides low-cost purchased and donated generic medicines and supplies from the World Health Organization (WHO) Essential Drug List (EDL) to humanitarian aid organizations serving people living in the world’s poorest communities. It accesses high-quality medicines and supplies globally from trusted manufacturers and wholesalers and effectively delivers them to healthcare agencies and programs around the world. A combination of quality products, price, service delivery and consulting services in supply chain management, rational drug use and evaluation and reporting make GEMS an attractive partner.
GEMS provides, from a single source, a combination of essential supply and logistics services required to maximize humanitarian impact practically anywhere on earth, including rural and urban settings and U.N-defined complex humanitarian emergencies.
