MAP is a Christian global health organization that provides medicine and medical supplies to people living in conditions of poverty. In 2016, the nonprofit offered assistance in more than 100 regions and countries including the hurricane in Haiti, earthquake in Honduras, Zika epidemic in Central America, and floods in the United States.
The CNBC report notes, “…they manage to do exceptional work both at home and abroad, all while maintaining top-notch financial management and transparency standards.” For MAP, that means less than one percent of its budget goes to administrative costs.
MAP Offers Special Donation During Holiday Season
“The holiday season is the time when many people choose to make donations to the nonprofit of their choice,” said Steve Stirling, MAP president and CEO. “MAP has developed a series of campaigns this month to appeal to our donor base, giving us the ability to impact the most people possible in 2017.”
MAP’s multifaceted effort offers donors several opportunities to give, including a holiday gift catalog (www.map.org/gift) with options ranging from refugee relief ($45) to providing medicines for a pop up clinic ($500)
MAP International has also received a $100,000 match grant challenge, meaning that every gift given before December 31, 2016 will be matched and double (up to $100,000). www.map.org/match
Since its founding, MAP has delivered nearly six billion dollars in essential medicines and supplies to more than one billion people via 300 partners, hospitals and medical missions in 115 countries. MAP also works with impoverished communities to help educate and train leaders about health threats and prevent disease. The nonprofit responds to man-made and natural disasters and assists people living with neglected tropical diseases and those living in severe poverty. Each year, MAP provides more than $330 million in essential medicines to 10 million people in more than 100 countries.
