Changing Lives: An Ecuador Medical Mission Success Story

SHARE

Meet Carlos. His beautiful smile is the result of the amazing work performed by surgeons working with our partner, Global Smile Foundation (GSF). His smile also reflects the trust you place in MAP International.

For more than 20 years, MAP has provided the surgical supplies for GSF medical mission trips around the world. Equipping these skilled surgeons with sutures and other critically-needed supplies is what MAP does best.

GSF alleviates the suffering of underserved patients born with congenital facial deformities with special emphasis on cleft lips and palates.

This September, Humanitarian Cleft Mission Teams representing GSF traveled to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Guayaquil is Ecuador's largest city with a population of over 3 million people. Despite its size, access to medical care is limited.

Today Carlos is smiling.  He’s one of the top students in his class, well-liked by all of his classmates.

“It’s a privilege to have a partner like you helping us change so many lives,” says Global Smile Foundation President, Dr. Usama Hamdan, MD, FICS

Your donations help provide sutures and other life-changing supplies that make these surgeries possible. Thank you for your support of MAP International and helping these children smile once more.
