Changing Lives: An Ecuador Medical Mission Success Story    

Meet Carlos. His beautiful smile is the result of the amazing work performed by surgeons working with our partner, Global Smile Foundation (GSF). His smile also reflects the trust you place in MAP International. 

For more than 20 years, MAP has provided the surgical supplies for GSF medical mission trips around the world. Equipping these skilled surgeons with sutures and other critically-needed supplies is what MAP does best. 

GSF alleviates the suffering of underserved patients born with congenital facial deformities with special emphasis on cleft lips and palates.

Ecuador Earthquake Update

Saturday, April 16, 2016 was a typical day on the Pacific coast of Ecuador, then suddenly at 6:58 PM local time a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck and thousands of lives were changed forever. 661 people lost their lives and almost 28,000 people were injured.

7.8 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Ecuador

On the evening of Saturday, April 16th a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook the coastal region of Ecuador.  The death toll is nearing 300 with reports of over 2,500 people injured. Ecuador's President Rafael Correa has declared it a state of emergency, with the number of dead expected to rise “considerably” as crews continue to remove bodies from the rubble, Correa said.
