Malnutrition

MAP International is committed to making nutrition accessible to everyone through its holistic malnutrition efforts. Our goal is to identify, treat, and prevent childhood deaths resulting from malnutrition among the most vulnerable populations. In the Kaya District of Burkina Faso, we are constructing a Nutrition Recovery Center, and providing critical medicines and supplies such as oral rehydration solutions, deworming medications, and prenatal vitamins. Additionally, in Bolivia, our Focus 1365 intervention methodology is improving nutrition and access to high-quality healthcare for individuals, families, and entire communities in need.

Bringing Children Health

In 2018, MAP International launched the Bringing Children Health (BCH) Program to provide sustainable access to pediatric antibiotics for healthcare providers working with vulnerable children globally. With no cost to patients or physicians, MAP aims to put a stop to preventable childhood deaths. The program began in Guatemala, where it supplied five local clinics with annual pediatric amoxicillin supplies. Within two years, the BCH program expanded to support 180 partners in 47 countries, providing lifesaving antibiotics to children.

Disaster Relief

In times of crisis, whether due to natural disasters or human-made emergencies, MAP International is there to provide vital aid and relief. Our emergency response teams immediately mobilize with lifesaving medicines and essential health supplies to help survivors in need.

Our signature Disaster Health Kits (DHKs) play a critical role in disaster relief efforts. These kits contain basic first aid supplies and personal hygiene items that help prevent the spread of disease in potentially chaotic and crowded living conditions. Additionally, the DHKs let survivors know that they have not been forgotten and provide a sense of hope in a time of great distress.

MAP also mobilizes Interagency Emergency Health Kits (IEHKs) in times of crisis. These comprehensive and vital medical kits are designed to provide essential tools for medical professionals in underserved areas and emergency situations. The kits include a wide array of medical instruments and supplies, such as surgical aprons, stainless steel basins and cups, otoscope and stethoscope sets, various forceps and scissors, sterilizers, thermometers, timers, and much more. The impact of these kits is immeasurable.

Global Impact of 2022

At MAP International, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, no matter where they live. That’s why we’re committed to providing life-changing patient treatments to people in need around the world.

Our efforts have enabled us to provide critical medicines and health supplies to millions of people in 86 countries around the world. We’re also pleased to report that we increased our medicine delivery by $119 million from the previous year, totaling $745,372,921. Additionally, we provided $37,549,164 in disaster relief – a $24 million increase from 2021. Our mission is simple yet impactful: to provide essential medicines and health supplies to those in need so they can live life to the fullest.

In the fiscal year 2022 alone, we delivered over 16 million prenatal vitamins to 49 countries to support maternal and fetal health. We also provided over 119,000 oral rehydration salts, totaling nearly 3 million sachets, to 45 countries to help prevent dehydration. Additionally, we administered over 1.8 million deworming medications to patients in 15 countries and provided over 800,000 antibiotics to individuals in 57 countries. Through our Bringing Children Health (BCH) Program, we were able to reach over 324,000 children – an increase of over 243,000 from the previous year. By targeting our efforts where they’re needed most, we can make a real impact and improve the health and wellbeing of children around the world.
