Global Impact of 2022

At MAP International, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, no matter where they live. That’s why we’re committed to providing life-changing patient treatments to people in need around the world.

Our efforts have enabled us to provide critical medicines and health supplies to millions of people in 86 countries around the world. We’re also pleased to report that we increased our medicine delivery by $119 million from the previous year, totaling $745,372,921. Additionally, we provided $37,549,164 in disaster relief – a $24 million increase from 2021. Our mission is simple yet impactful: to provide essential medicines and health supplies to those in need so they can live life to the fullest.

In the fiscal year 2022 alone, we delivered over 16 million prenatal vitamins to 49 countries to support maternal and fetal health. We also provided over 119,000 oral rehydration salts, totaling nearly 3 million sachets, to 45 countries to help prevent dehydration. Additionally, we administered over 1.8 million deworming medications to patients in 15 countries and provided over 800,000 antibiotics to individuals in 57 countries. Through our Bringing Children Health (BCH) Program, we were able to reach over 324,000 children – an increase of over 243,000 from the previous year. By targeting our efforts where they’re needed most, we can make a real impact and improve the health and wellbeing of children around the world.

Thanks to our dedicated team and generous supporters, we’re able to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Join us in our mission to create a healthier, more equitable world today.

Volunteer with MAP!

Our volunteers are the vital link in our supply chain of hope. With your help, we can provide essential supplies to disaster survivors all over the world and offer them a sense of dignity and humanity in their time of need.

Ways to Volunteer

Individuals or Small Groups

You can attend a pre-organized packing event in your area or help set up for one.

Community Groups

You can host a packing event for your group. We’ll provide you with everything you need, including instructions and products, and you simply mail the Disaster Health Kits back to us when you’re done.

Business Organizations

Get involved by establishing a day of service and sponsoring a packing event for your team members. This is a great opportunity for schools, churches, corporate organizations, or anyone looking to make a difference in the world.

Our signature Disaster Health Kits (DHKs) are designed to support a person for an entire week after a disaster and cost just $10 each! Each kit includes health and hygiene supplies like first aid kits, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other essential items.

In fiscal year 2023, our volunteers packed over 83,000 Disaster Health Kits and contributed over 10,300 hours of their time. Join us in bringing hope and healing to people in desperate need.

Volunteers are MAP’s force multipliers. They increase our bandwidth and ability to respond to crisis. Through their service, volunteers are our agents of dignity and hope.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up to volunteer?

It’s easy! Click below to sign up as an individual or community organization.

Is there an age requirement to volunteer?

There is no age requirement. Our oldest volunteer is 92 years old, and we have volunteers as young as elementary school students (with their parents). If you can follow basic instructions and get along well with other people, then you will be a fantastic volunteer!

(Parental consent is required for volunteers under 17 years of age and a parent or guardian must be present during the volunteer session.)

What will I be doing?

If you are volunteering at a DHK packing event, you will be building boxes, serving in the packing assembly line, bagging, boxing, and taping completed kits, putting together pallets of completed 30-pound boxes, taking out trash, restocking packing stations, wrapping pallets, folding towels, and more.

If you are volunteering for a medicine pack assembly event (these occur at our Brunswick location only), you will also be sorting and packing medicines in a specific order and verifying medicine pack contents.

Front desk volunteers at our Brunswick location will be answering and directing incoming calls, welcoming guests into MAP, and helping with light administrative tasks.

Can I bring other people to volunteer?

Of course! When filling out the sign-up form, please register as a group rather than an individual, and a MAP team member will contact you with more information. Each member of your group will need to register prior to the volunteer event.

How long do volunteer shifts last?

Volunteer shifts typically range between 2 to 3 hours, but there are some exceptions if we are packing DHKs that are immediately needed for an active disaster.

When can I volunteer?

We host Disaster Health Kit (DHK) packing events at our distribution center in Brunswick, Georgia, on a weekly basis, while our affiliate location in Atlanta hosts packing events monthly. Once you fill out our sign-up form, a MAP team member will contact you with upcoming dates that we need volunteers.

What should I wear?

Please wear closed toe shoes and weather appropriate clothing that will allow you to comfortably stretch, bend, and kneel safely.

What are the warehouse/facility rules?

Detailed information will be shared during the briefing the day of your event, but we do ask all volunteers to follow 3 basic rules: think safety first, follow instructions, and communicate regularly.

How do I volunteer with a group?

On the sign-up form, simply select your group size and a MAP team member will contact you.

What happens if I’m late to my volunteer shift?

If you are running late, call the MAP staff member that has been communicating with you about your volunteer event. They will help you determine if adjustments can be made to accommodate you, or if you will need to reschedule your volunteer shift to help with another packing event.
