MAP International Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer, Amanda Whitmire

Brunswick, Georgia, November 15, 2023 – MAP International, a global nonprofit organization whose focus is to provide medicine for all people, recently hired Amanda Whitmire as their new Senior Vice President (SVP) of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Whitmire, who hails from Texas, is a seasoned finance executive with over 20 years of experience in both the public and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining MAP International, Whitmire worked as the vice president of finance and controller at Compassion International, a Forbes Top 15 Nonprofit organization. Prior to that, she worked in corporate accounting and reporting at Whole Foods Market, Inc. and in audit at the multifaceted consulting and services firm, Ernst & Young.

“I am thrilled to welcome Amanda Whitmire as our new Chief Financial Officer and SVP Finance at MAP International,” says Steve Stirling, President and CEO of MAP International.  “Her extensive experience and innovative leadership make her a valuable addition to our team. Amanda’s proven track record of success will serve to help advance our mission now and in the future.”

Whitmire holds a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration in Finance from Baylor University and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Virginia. She has extensive experience in strategy development, financial governance and controls, process optimization, regulatory compliance, external financial reporting, fund/cash flow management, and financial planning.

As CFO at MAP International, Whitmire will be responsible for managing multi-million-dollar financial operations, including both monetary donations and gifts in kind. “I am happy to be joining the MAP team and look forward to contributing to the continued impact of an organization with such a rich and meaningful legacy,” said Whitmire.

While her professional skillset alone is enough to qualify her for this position, Whitmire also understands the plight of people living in poverty around the world. She has traveled extensively with Compassion International, and voluntarily lived in Ghana for a time as part of micro-lending programs at Whole Foods Market. She is compassionate toward those in need, lives her life with purpose, and is excited to join the team at MAP International.
